Air Writing: The Next Frontier for Screen‑Less Input

Table of Contents

Typing on a keyboard requires a surface. Tapping on a screen requires a display. But what if you could input text, symbols, and commands without either?

That's the promise of air writing—a core technology we're developing at MythLink™.

By tracking the motion of a finger or a smart ring in three‑dimensional space, our algorithms identify writing patterns and convert them into meaningful input. No keyboard. No screen. No fixed surface.

Where does it matter most?

  • Smart glasses — take notes or send messages without pulling out your phone

  • Spatial computing — navigate virtual interfaces with natural hand movements

  • Accessibility — provide input options for users with limited mobility

It's still early days, but the potential is immense. We're currently validating air writing across multiple device types and use cases—and the results are promising.
